Students displayed an amazing level of skill at the Lepa and Lotofaga U15’s Boy and Girls Tournament in Tuanaimato on Wednesday.

The finale came down to a heated match between Matatufu and Lotofaga, but conceded to a draw due to the weather.

The schools that participated were Saleapaga, Lepa, Matatufu, Aufaga and Lotofaga.  Each school submitted a boy and girl team, resulting in a total of ten teams participating in the tournament.

The Samoa International Cricket Association and I.C.C held clinics at the schools to introduce the sport to the students.  The clinics covered the basic rules of cricket, batting, bowling and fielding.

The program’s aim is to develop the grassroots cricket and have received positive feedback from the students. The Regional Senior Development Officer , Siliauga Taitoe Kaisala, stated, “ all the kids really enjoy it and appreciate bringing cricket for their districts.”

Samoa International Cricket Association hosted this tournament to put a competitive edge on their learning process and showcase their progress.
