The Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio, has marked January 28, 2019 as the commencement date for the Teacher’s Act 2016.

This was highlighted in a public notice taken out by the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture (MESC) in the Samoa Observer newspaper.

“The Act will enforce the official registration of all teachers of Early Childhood Learning (ECE) schools, mission schools, private schools and government schools. 

“The notice is hereby a reminder to all teachers of the commencement of this act, and to introduce the official establishment of the Teacher’s Council 2019 for its duties and responsibilities.
