Lost in translation

Dear Editor

Re: Taxing the church pastors and evil, called bureaucratic corruption

I recall an altercation, (or so I’d like to call it) between Tofilau and Tuiatua sometime ago on 2AP in which Tuiatua raised a question of transparency and accountability.

Tofilau responded by asking Tuiatua to translate transparency and accountability in Samoan. Tuiatua in return told Tofilau to go and get himself a translator as Tuiatua was not Tofilaus translator....

Fast forward to 2017, it seems those tricky words are still without a Samoan translation. Perhaps, this is why corruption has gone on unchecked for so long. The lauias, maybe just maybe are unaware such words exist for a reason.
