A date has been set for the heading of a contempt of Court charge against suspended Police Inspector Maotaoalii Kaioneta Kitiona.

Judge Alalatoa Rosella Viane Papali’i is presiding.

The defendant is represented by lawyer, Donald Kerslake while Sergeant Khantam Stanley appeared on behalf of the National Prosecution Office.

Yesterday, Judge Alalatoa set the matter for hearing on the 13th July 2017.

Last year, Maotaoali’i was accused of contempt of Court, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Police Media Spokesperson, Su’a Lemamea Tiumalu, confirmed that the accused was suspended on the first week of November.

He said a Police investigation was carried out when a complaint was filed against the Inspector for contempt of court.
