Fun , food and family is the best combination for any event.

And this was certainly the case for the Police Remembrance and Sport’s Day at Tuanaimato.

The police force held a more sombre ceremony earlier in the week to remember the service and sacrifices of the men and women who have served Samoa over the years.

The Sports Day was held as a more festive way to celebrate with the current officers and their families.

The event consisted of a volleyball tournament, a co-ed netball tournament and the children were not forgotten with colourful bounce houses to play on.

Members of the Ministry were divided into five groups and the officers and their families wore the colours corresponding to their team names.

Everyone seemed to be having a good time with their colleagues and families.

“We’ve got our officers and their families here today, so it’s pretty good to see that everyone’s enjoying themselves,” said the Chair of the Remembrance Day Committee, Monalisa Tiai- Kati,

The officers looked relaxed and happy to be out of uniform and in their sports gear spending time with their families.
