The Government has started the recruitment process to fill two key positions — general manager for the Samoa Airport Authority and Chief Executive Officer of the Unit Trust of Samoa.

The position of the Chief Executive Officer of the Unit Trust of Samoa was advertised in October this year, following the death of the incumbent Sa’u Justina Sa’u. The position at the Unit Trust of Samoa reports directly to the organisation’s board of directors.

The Samoa Airport Authority general manager, Magele Hoe Viali, resigned from the organisation, and was recently appointed the new Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Works Transport and Infrastructure.

The Government has taken out advertisements in the newspapers to advise the public of the vacancies in the top positions.

“The Samoa Airport Authority is now inviting qualified and interested applicants for the position of general manager with compensation and benefits equivalent to similar level positions within the Samoa Public Service.”

The Samoa Airport Authority is the main operator of airports in Samoa and associated civil aviation services, which are considered crucial to the safety and regularity of air transport in Samoa.

For the position of general manager with the Samoa Airport Authority, the Government will offer the successful applicant $117,667 per annum for three years.
