Another waste of money

Dear Editor,

Re: Govt buys Goldstar building

What a waste! They built several market buildings and other so-called government business buildings over the past years that eventually sold to private business for 20 sene on the tala.

That’s an 80% lost of people’s money on each building. Now they purchased another and claimed they bought it at 2million discounted price.

The government will spend 20mil to renovate and when they can’t get businesses into the building, they will sell it to a private realtor/business for 5mil and they will claim it as making money.

Our government thinks we are uneducated and they know best.

This business model masks the real corruption that goes on behind closed doors. This building will be sold to one of the portfolio minister’s friend or family within 9 months after the government spends 20mil in renovation.

The two brand new markets are fresh in our conscious. The people can not afford long term leases or monthly permits so they are forced to sell their goods on the sidewalks in bad weather while the government negotiated a deal with the Coin Save company to take over as the landlord with an approved loan without collateral.

Did any of these politicians minor in business? Did any of them attend college?

Another wasted venture by the government.

It would be better for our people if they spend the money to bring water and electricity to those in need of basic necessities on a daily basis.
