The newly formed Kung Fu Wushu Association will be holding free Kung Fu Wushu training clinics from tomorrow, Saturday 5 May to the 8 May at Plantation Boxing Gym in Sinamoga.

The development is exciting for the President of the Association, Travis Lamb.

He says the training clinics, which are an introduction to the fighting sport of Kung Fu Wushu known as Sanda, will be conducted by the coach of the Australian National Kung Fu Wushu Team, Rob Williams.

Mr Williams has a long and distinguished career as a coach of Kung Fu Wushu and is the current National coach for Australia.

The training clinics will be held at Plantation Boxing Gym in Sinamoga and will be open to everyone. The training times on Saturday the 5th of May will be from 10.00am – 12pm, 1pm – 3pm and from 4pm to 6pm. On Monday the 7th of May and Tuesday the 8th of May the training sessions will be from 3pm – 5pm and from 5pm to 7pm.

In addition to the training clinics, 12 members of the Kung Fu Wushu members were recently awarded with certificates following their successful completion of Sanda rules and training orientation seminar.

The seminar was conducted last year by the Oceania Kung Fu Wushu Federation (O.K.W.F.).

O.K.W.F. is recognised by the International Wushu Federation (I.W.U.F.) as the peak governing body for Chinese martial arts (kung fu, wushu, tai chi, sanda) in the Oceania region.

I.W.U.F. is a member of the International Olympic Committee (I.O.C.).

In a further development of the sport of Kung Fu Wushu, Mr. Lamb also unveiled the new look Kung Fu Wushu Samoa Logo.

“Kung Fu Wushu Samoa is expanding its presence in

Samoa and our new logo will be part of our public face as this coincides with our inclusion in the new Oceania Kung Fu Wushu website http://oceaniakungfuwushu.com,” said Mr. Lamb.
