Celebrating international Firefighters Day
Every fourth of May, the world pauses to pay tribute to the service of the brave men and women who tirelessly give their lives for their country.
This year, International Fire Fighter Day kicked off without a hitch at the Fire and Emergency Services Authority Headquarters in Apia yesterday.
Fire-fighters and civil service men and women turned up in their uniforms and sports shoes for the 10km Marathon.
“We acknowledge the support of the Government of Samoa, our partners, development partners, stakeholders, and all staff for their vital contribution to the growth of the authority to date,” a statement issued by S.F.E.S.A. said.
Today, will be the official ceremony held in front of the Government Building.
Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, who is also the Minister of F.E.S.A is scheduled to deliver the keynote address followed by a number of activities.
The celebration will also mark the 10th year anniversary since F.E.S.A. separated from the Ministry of Police.
