The feeling of excitement is mutual. While Samoa’s excitement to see the world famous Katinas is obvious, for the brothers they say they are equally excited to be here.

Eager to get on the stage tonight; the Katina’s hearts are for their people and they are excited to share that with everyone tonight and tomorrow evening at the National Youth Praise Festival (N.Y.P.F.) in front the Government building.

Aside from their excitement to minister to their people; they are also just ecstatic to be home once more.

For John Katina, it is a true honour to be in Samoa.

“Thank you to the National Youth Praise Festival (N.Y.P.F.) for having us,” he said. “We’ve been so excited to come to Apia and we look forward to any opportunity to come back to Samoa or even in American Samoa; it’s always a joy and an honour.

“We are looking forward to tomorrow night (tonight) to share our music with our brothers and sister; our moms and dads here in the beautiful Island of Samoa.”

For Sam Katina, he is excited to inspire some hearts during the festival.

“We had an awesome time with the young people at N.U.S. and we are really looking forward to being part of the Praise festival,” he said.

“We know that a lot is going on but I think that hearts are going to be inspired especially the young people; we will take every opportunity to say to the young people that there’s purpose in their lives.

“So that’s what we’ll be singing about.”

As for Joe Katina, he's excited to praise with the crowd and to be able to tell the youth of how beautiful a relationship with Christ really is.

“Like my brothers said we are just honored to be here in Samoa; our homeland,” he said.

“We want to say a special thank you to Y.F.C, my brother Kosi and the whole staff for stepping out in faith and for making it possible for us to come here.

“We are thankful for other organizations and churches that God is using here in Samoa to reach our people; I know that our people have a reverence for God but there is a relationship that the Lord wants to have with us and that’s really our mission.

“To tell these young people here that it’s really much more than just going to church; it’s even much more than just being a good person.

“We want to encourage you that God so lovingly wants to have a relationship with you and when you have that relationship it’s more beautiful than anything you have ever experienced before.”

But for James Katina, there is just something special about Samoa.

“We have been blessed to travel all over the world but there’s something special about coming back to our homeland; something special about being with our people,” he said.

“We count it a true honour and a privilege to be able to be a part of praise festival and so thank you again; thank you for your support.

“We feel honored to carry the name of Samoa wherever we go; we look forward to tomorrow (today), hopefully everyone can come out; it’s free so come and enjoy the music and have a great time with the Lord.”

Asked about what makes Samoa so special Sam Katina responded.

“Well we live in Nashville Tennessee and in the surrounding areas there’s probably about 100 Polynesians; so to come here and step off the airplane and see just our people… Samoans; it’s truly a blessing,” he said.

“I think that sometimes you all take it for granted but we want to just remind you of how beautiful the opportunity that you have to be together.

“One of the things people see in us is the message that we carry as brothers and when we have the time we share that the love we have as brothers started from our homeland because we were taught to love and respect one another.

“To be here where it all started as kids; it’s a beautiful beautiful thing.”

Finally for Jesse Katina, this is the highlight of their tour.

“It feels so good to be back; we bring greetings from our families back in Nashville Tennessee,” he said.

“We’ve been on the road for almost two weeks now; California, New Zealand, Australia and I can already tell that this last stop in Samoa will be the highlight of our trip.

“Thank you so much for having us; through the warm hospitality and the love that we feel when we’re with our Samoan people; we’re glad to be here.”

The brothers will be in front of the Government Building tonight sharing their testimonies and worshipping with whoever wishes to join.
