Three men accused of stealing from C.C.K. Company earlier this year have pleaded guilty to one charge of burglary and one charge of theft against them.

Isaako Kelemeke, Time Pine and Isamaeli Afiafi of Falelima Savaii, Toamua and Sataua appeared before Supreme Court Justice Leiataualesa daryl Clarke.

The stolen products is valued at $4,757.50.

According to the Police summary of facts, on 26 April, 2018, the three accused unlawfully entered C.C.K. building.

“On 27 April, 2018, the three of you stole products from C.C.K. which include; 4 shorts - $118, 6 t-shirts - $101.70, 1 tshirt - $21, 4 t shirts no collar - $75.80, 16 cargo pants - $671.20, 5 shorts - $214.70, 4 cargo pants - $55, 38 surf shorts - $906.60, 1 pair of sport shoes - $25.90, 4 pairs of boys shoes - $163, 17 t shirts - $322.20, 12 t shirts - $199.50, 3 t shirts - $37.50 and roll of material 148 meter - $1776.

“Total cost of the products is $4,757.50 with hope that you will not return the stolen items to the owner Georgina Lui of Ululoloa and Vaitele tai,” said the Police summary of facts. 

When asked by the registrar for their plea, Isaako told the Court that he only took one shorts and one tank top.

“Your honor, I only took one pair of shorts and a tank top I didn’t take all of the stuff that was called just now,” he said.

However, Justice Leiataualesa told the defendant that even though he took one pair of shorts and a tank top, the fact of the matter is they all stole the items.

“The criminal charge is against all three of you,” said Justice Leiataualesa.

Justice Leiataualesa stood the matter down for prosecution to explain to Isaako what the criminal charges were.

But as for the other two defendants, they pleaded guilty to both charges and Jusice Tuala referred the matter to the Alcohol and Drugs Court.

After the criminal mention hearing, prosecution Rexona Titi of the Attorney General’s Office explained to Isaako that he was involved in stealing from C.C.K. therefore it doesn’t matter whether he took only one item, he was involved in the crime.

Isaako then pleaded guilty to the charge of theft.
