Admiring the To Sua Ocean Trench and its beautiful scenery are Nura and her daughter, Deniza, from Kyrgyzstan and Eleonora, from Uzbekistan.

Nura and Eleonora are best friends.

Nura came to Samoa in July last year because of her husband’s work.

According to her, Samoa and Kyrgyzstan have a lot of differences.

“Kyrgyzstan is the inland country in central Asia area,” she said. “So this is new, we can see the ocean every day, warm weather whole year, and there are no borders in the land.”

Samoa’s greenery and lush surroundings, especially the To Sua Ocean Trench, amazes her.

“This place is amazing, it’s like paradise. There is clear water and I could find fishes inside. My daughter also enjoyed diving although she got scared so much,” she said of the trench.

Nura also mentioned the Samoan people and culture.

“I love the Samoan nationality because they enjoy their life so much. Nowadays, people are busy everywhere, but Samoan atmosphere lets us have a slow life.

“Slow life includes spending time to talk with families a lot and it’s very peaceful. In other countries, people just enjoy their smartphones and watch television without communicating with family members. That’s a beautiful part about Samoa.”

Eleonora added to her friend’s opinion.

“Modernisation gives us a lot of benefits and it is necessary for us, but there is the thing which we have to keep.

“I want Samoa to develop in convenience and stay as a beautiful nation at the same time. The To Sua Ocean Trench is a beautiful landscape and a nice view. This tells us that nature is priceless.”

For the friends, Samoa has helped them appreciate and respect the value of nature and its beauty.
