The Ministry of Education Sports and Culture (M.E.S.C) in collaboration with the Football Federation Samoa (F.F.S) hosted a Sports Day for all Special Needs Schools on Wednesday.

The event was held at the Tuanaimato sports complex, and it is organised annually by M.E.S.C.

The keynote address was delivered by Vau Peseta, Acting C.E.O. of M.E.S.C.

This special day was initiated to develop skills and knowledge of special needs children in sports.

It was also an opportunity to recognise the ability of these children through different sporting activities and also to train some of the talented children so they can represent Samoa in the Special Olympic Games.

The programme also aimed to give equal sports opportunities to the children with special needs to come together, have fun and exercise in order to get healthy.

Both M.E.S.C and F.F.S believe that working together with teachers and parents will definitely provide moral support for special needs children by creating more chances and accessibility for them to different sports in future.
