They say if you love something you will always go back.

Well, Sara and Mika Ah Fook, of Australia, love Samoa so much they have done exactly that.

When Dear Tourist approached them in the heart of Apia yesterday, they were enjoying some local food from the stalls at the Teuila Festival.

Sara said this is her family’s second time in Samoa. Married to a Samoan, she loves the place.

“This is actually our first day back on the island and we thought we’d come down here and enjoy some of Chef John’s food because we heard he’s here,” she said.

“We brought our boys down to look around and try out some of the local food and enjoy the holiday.

“It’s great. With the live music and the great atmosphere, we’ve been talking to other people from Australia too, who are here for the Teuila Festival.

“So it’s a strong point for people to come over and then enjoy it with the showcase of the food and the entertainment.”

Mika said his wife fell in love with organic food when they first came to Samoa.

This is one of the reasons they wanted to come back.

“She never gets sick of it and she has found the place she can call her second home because she fell in love with organic food,” he said.

“The weather is just great, I mean, compared to Australia, this is not hot because back home it goes up to 40 to 50 degrees.

“However, the humidity is not so good and that is why we’re sort of suffering, but all in all, we are enjoying our holiday.

“We’re here for two weeks and staying at my family at Vaimoso, and in the next couple of days we will be making our way to the other side of the island.”

The couple prefer to go with the flow as opposed to being too organised.

“We haven’t booked anything yet, but for now we will enjoy the Teuila Festival while we’re here. We want to enjoy it and take heaps of pictures for our trip.

“We are looking forward to going to Savai’i and going around the island. We will probably spend about three to four days there and then come back.

“Our boys are definitely enjoying the sun here, as well as the Teuila Festival. We have picked the right time for a holiday and we will enjoy every bit of it until we go back.”
