More support rolls in for Samoa’s Olympic hero

Farmer Joe Supermarket – Magi has officially launched their “Ele Opeloge Donation” drive.

From now until 7 May 2017, every bottle of Natural Samoa Water purchased at Farmer Joe Supermarket- Magi, twenty sene will be allocated towards the “Ele Opeloge Donation” Fund.  

During the launch yesterday, Ele was flanked by her coach and President of Samoa Weightlfting Federation, Tuaopepe Jerry Wallwork and General Manager of Farmer Joe A.J. Cowley for the special occasion.

Mr. Cowley said they are delighted to be able to help Ele and the Samoa Weightlifting Federation.

“The Initiative came about through Natural Samoa Water supporting the Samoa Weightlifting Federation which is a cause we see as a good thing for the community,” he said. 

“Magi also has a history of supporting the community. Farmer Joe Magi in support of Natural Samoa Water, saw it as something our customers can support Ele and what she’s done for Samoa and it’s a great cause to be behind.” 

Mr. Cowley congratulated Ele and expressed deep appreciation about what she has done for Samoa.

“We’re happy Farmer Joe Magi can be part of the celebration of your Olympic Silver medal, a first for Samoa,” he said. 

“It’s a special achievement that will be marked in our history.”  

“We are proud to show our appreciation and support for you.  The journey has not been without its barriers along the way.  But your perseverance has paid off.”

“Eight years ago, your dream of representing Samoa at the Olympic Games with the first of your two Olympic appearances.  Ele you carried our nation’s flag with pride and humility.”

“As a token of our nation’s pride of your achievement, staring today, April 8th 2017- May 7th 2017, every .20cents from every bottle of Natural Samoa Water that we sell will be set aside for you as a gift from our community, our customers and Famer Joe –Magi.” 

“We thank you for representing Samoa with honour and dignity . You are a role model for our youth, especially for our women.  You are an example that Samoa is right up there with other elite weightlifting countries in the world.”
