Mother of eleven wants a job to feed children

Parents dream for their children to have a better future.

They do this by encouraging them to be in school and making sure they have whatever they need. Regardless of how hard it is; parents will do whatever they can to help their children.

Faatuai Poloai is no exception. Speaking to the Village Voice yesterday, she said what she hopes for in the future is for her children to end up with better lives.

“There is no one in the family that works even my husband. So what we rely on is our plantation and Samoan cocoa,” she said.

“We do the best we can to provide for our children because we have eleven children and only four are currently in school. The rest stay home to help out with the plantation.”

Fa’atuai said it’s a tough life for them but they are grateful that they are alive.

“The cost of living is way up there because of all the new changes our government initiated.”

“I try not to complain about it because that’s life and I don’t think we can change things that have been done already.”

“All the obligations are always there for us to contribute towards and it’s not something that we can hide from.”

“The only thing we can do is search for jobs so we can make some money, not just for us but also the children.”

Faatuai is job-hunting and she’s hoping her prayers would be answered soon. She needs a job to help out her big family.

“Whatever job I will get, I think it would be enough and I would try my best in doing that job because I need the money to take care of my kids.

“I need them to have bright futures. Samoa, if you want to help Faatuai with her situation, please contact her, 7784633.”
