Attorney General, Lemalu Herman Retzlaff, says they have yet to decide on who will prosecute the suspended Director of the National Prosecution Office, Mauga Precious Chang.

Mauga has pleaded not guilty to charges of negligent driving causing injury and dangerous driving, for which she has been suspended. She is represented by former Attorney General, Aumua Ming Leung Wai.

Last week, it emerged the clash between the Attorney General’s Office and the National Prosecution Office (N.P.O) over who would prosecute Mauga had been resolved.

The clash started when the matter was called in the District Court before Judge Vaepule Vaemoa Va’ai and two prosecutors showed up. One was former Attorney General, Taulapapa Brenda Heathe- Latu and the other was a New Zealand based lawyer, Satiu Simativa Perese.

Last week, Mrs. Lamb confirmed that the parties have agreed  to settle the matter.

“They have resolved all the issues between them and you will hear from the Attorney General later. At least the proceedings is discontinued.”

Asked on Friday if they have made a decision yet, Lemalu said no.
