Business House touch tourney heats up

The Samoa Touch Association annual Business House Touch Rugby tournament is back with an exciting display of talents at St. Joseph’s College field.

This week kicked off round four of the tournament between ministries, corporation, companies and businesses.

The tournament is divided among four pools, with six teams in each pool playing every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.

Samoa Touch Association President Michael Wulf said the tournament was about team building and promoting healthy living within the workforce.

“The main initiative from the Samoa Touch Association is to promote team work outside of the office as well as promoting healthy living within ministries and business.”

The tournament is also part of the Samoa Touch Association initiative of getting the sport active again, Wulf said.

The Business House touch rugby tournament round three last week was dedicated to the Cancer Society where all the participating teams had to wear pink ribbons to mark the end of Pinktober.

Next week will be the final week for pool matches before the playoffs in the next two weeks which will determine the winner.

Wulf said the Samoa Touch Association was looking to add more competition like this in future.

The Samoa Touch Association is also hosting their Open Mix Club tournament every Saturdays together with their Business House tournament.
