It has been told that the youth of today are the future of families, our country and the church as well.

We see some of our youth working hard to make that come true and Savio Pitolua is one of those people.

The 21-year old from the village of Magiagi told Village Voice that there is nothing more important to him than his family and that’s his motivation to work everyday.

Savio used to attend Vaimauga College and his school life ended in Year 13, from then on, he started looking for a job because he wanted to help out his family especially his parents.

Now, he’s a security officer at the Catholic Cathedral at Mulivai.

“I have just started working as a security, it’s not much but for me, the important thing was to be able to get a job so I can help out my parents,” he says to the Village Voice.

“You know, I told myself that whatever job I will be blessed with, that’s work.

Savio also said that he dreams of having his own family in the future.

“I will one day make my own family but right now I am trying to focus on taking care of my parents.

“Not only that, but I want to start a family of my own when I feel like I’m settled , in terms that I have a better job that pays really good.

Savio went on to say that he doesn’t want to waste his life away like how he’s seen how the youth have become.

“Just words of advice to the youth of today, please make use of that energy for your family.

“Always remember we won’t always be with our parents and families forever.

“It is time for us to use our minds and work for our families because they need help.

“You are responsible for your own future, not anyone else.

“Whatever job you’ve given, work hard and with honestly.
