The mothers of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa at Vaiala are the proud recipients of a generous assistance package from the government of China.

The gift includes 20 sewing machines, sewing-related equipment, and three sewing specialists to train the mothers.

The President of the group, Ane Uele, gratefully acknowledged China for their help.

“We’ll make good use of it,” she said. “We believe the training programme that we will now undergo for the next 28 days will really help our mothers to develop their families.

“We all know that the cost of sewing is increasing so having these sewing machines for a programme like this will really help the mothers here in Vaiala.”

The President also thanked their Member of Parliament and Associate Minister, Tamapua Victor Lenata’i, for his help.

“We also want to thank the sewing specialists from Hunan International Business Vocational College who are here to teach us sewing skills.

“We are looking forward to more opportunities from the government of China to mothers here in our village and church.”
