Re: Beautiful from afar, sickening at core These are very sad incidents. The first speaks of uncontrolled rage and of a person not in their right mind. Who knows, if Samoa had better counseling and mental health services, perhaps this horrid incident could have been avoided.
Re: Marijuana in Samoa Legalising marijuana should have been done long ago worldwide for medical purposes because of this plant’s many known benefits—that is why pharmaceutical companies’ top management have suppressed its legal availability.
Re: Complete rubbish Hahahaha PS Jeffrey you’re starting to sound like your uncle; rubbish this, rubbish that, anyone that says anything about the government is rubbished.
Re: P.M. on China I have said this many times; the only thing China wants is a vote for them in the UN. China is doing this in many countries, and they are controlling these countries like puppets.
Dear Editor Re: Petition to Parliament As the saying goes, “Nothing ventured nothing gained.” Ae malo le lafolafo ma le faasoa i lau Susuga. Attorney Iuni Sapolu represents the S.S.I.G. organization in Samoa, along with many fine residents of Samoa, ...voters if I may add. These are the brave hearts who marched, protested in rallies and are now going to PETITION the Goliath of Samoan politics for the last 30 years, to Repeal L.T.R.A. 2008, or take a hike.
Dear Editor Re: Complete rubbish Let me tell you PS Jeffrey that “Siaosi Siomia” and “Oi Sole” are not the same person. So you have begun with a lie. That is why you have to be 100% sure before you say/write something otherwise you lose credibility but I will forgive you on this as this is not important.
Dear Editor, I am personally grateful for the availability of Internet and especially the use of social media in Samoa. I see confidence in many of our local users in voicing their opinions and concerns online, and public debate.
Dear Editor Re: Samoa defends China I have found the tone of A’Samoan Government believes Chinese soft loans have yielded modern buildings and given employees the ability to work better!’ What a load of media savvy garbage! That is, we have (supposedly) modern technology and modern facilities that have made Samoa (Prime Minister’s story) become a modern Country?
Dear Editor Re: Samoa defends China in diplomatic dispute I have found the tone of Australia’s attack on China similar to the U.S. and yet they are unable to do the exact development and economic projects being done by China to help the Pacific. The comments from Concetta are just lip service.
Dear Editor, Re: P.M. and Samoa must tread carefully Both of these letters from Siaosi Siomia and his other ID, Oi Sole, are complete rubbish. 1. For the past 200 years, the major business players in Samoa have foreign surnames.
Dear Editor, There have been obvious talks by Unasa Iuni Sapolu and her S.S.I.G. team about their next move. They had already done their first move where they bravely marched the street of Apia with their banners against the govt and the Land Titles Registration Act 2008 (L.T.R.A).
Dear Editor, I applaud the Prime Minister who is the Minister of Police for his decision to make redundant the couples and siblings working within the Ministry of Police. The decision came into effect on 31st December 2017 where either of the couple or siblings has to leave the service.
Dear Editor, I'm going to speak directly to Ne Ne o Samoa and all those who have this mindset that Unasa Iuni Sapolu is being "silly" with these white agendas. First I'd like to say you do have valid points there, valid to you.
Dear Editor, Re: P.M. and Samoa must tread carefully The Samoan government should have been promoting Samoan Investors. Samoans should have been educating other Samoans to make sure Samoan mo Samoa was happening.
Dear Editor, Re: P.M. rubbishes China claims Very well presented. I watched events back home with anxiety and stress knowing that those responsible for empowering any political party to form a government, our matai, lack the basic education to understand world affairs evolving around them daily.
Re: Women as Head of State I find some of the comments shared here truly sad - especially in this day and age. I'm all for a female Head of Sate, School Principal, CEO, Sales Manager, Lawyer, Mother, Team captain, Doctor, Professor, Head Chef, Member of Parliament and yes . . . Prime Minister too!
Re: Samoa’s debt to China Some of the central bank reports can be found at https://www.cbs.gov.ws/inde... If they are to be believed, total debt in 2013/14 was WST959.5m and as at the first quarter of 2017 a mere WST1,008.4m, or an increase of only WST48.9m in the past 3 years.
Dear Editor, Re: P.M. rubbishes claims about debt to China Is it Chinese Aid or Debt Entrapment? I hope our Prime Minister prayed and thought hard about what he is doing? I hope he thought about the consequences and the outcome of his decisions? For him to put our small Island Nation into so much debt is irresponsible, foolish and negligent.
The truth is simple enough. Australian Minister Concetta Fierravanti-Wells might have sounded rather undiplomatic in her criticisms of China’s aid to the Pacific region but we cannot deny that she does have a very valid point.
It’s signed and sealed. Samoa’s Lupesoliai La’auliolemalietoa Joseph Parker will take on Anthony Joshua in what will be the biggest fight of his life. The fight will take place in Cardiff Wales on 31 March 2018. Do you think Lupesoliai is ready for the fight? We asked in today’s Street Talk and this is what people said:
Think a minute…Guiseppe’s Papa came from a family of fishermen. In fact, for 300 years the men in his family had been fishermen in the country of Sicily. His Papa eventually moved to San Francisco where he continued their fishing business. Eventually they had 9 children.
Do you feel the earth would be kinder if Adam was Eve instead? When I look at the children of the streets, I feel sorrow only. There is not a bone in a loving mother which does not ache for the grief upon any child. I miss my own mother like I miss the rain.
LEARNING THE AIRLINES LINGO Heard the term “close in bookings”? Chances are, you are one of the many Samoans who fall into that category used by airlines to describe your booking when you travel.
Samoa’s Ava Exports is looking promising, with exports expected to increase in the next couple of years. Ava exports was Samoa’s second largest export commidity from 1998 to 2001 until some European countries led by Germany imposed restrictions on the Pacific Kava Trade. Samoa’s exports of Ava in 1998 was just under $20m.
