Police mourn Su’a Tiumalu

The Police and the media are mourning the sudden passing of a dear friend.

Superintendent and Police Spokesperson, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu, passed away yesterday morning.

This was confirmed by Police Commissioner, Fuiavailili Egon Keil.

“Yes I can confirm that Superintendent Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu has passed away,” he told the Samoa Observer.

Known to the media as a friendly person, Su’a is in charge of the weekly press conferences .

This is where he confirms and denies investigations that are underway.  

Serving the Police force for more than 30 years, Su’a is the Commanding Officer of the Faleolo Police Post.

Yesterday, Police Commissioner Fuiava said Su’a will be missed.  

“We just discovered this [yesterday] morning and at the moment we are not sure of the cause of his sudden passing,” he said.

“It’s sad news to us and we miss him a lot.

“We value his input and his wisdom.

“He was a well respected man here in the Police force as well as the community and he will be sorely missed.”

It was not possible to get a comment from the family of Superintendent Su’a Tiumalu.
