Life in Samoa is already hard, and it is much harder for those who don’t have a job to provide money for the many extra things that are needed.

This is according to Salesa Tavai, 29 years of age from the village of Faleasi’u.

Village Voice caught up with Mr. Tavai when he was on his way to help his friend with his work last week.

Mr. Tavai told Village Voice he is looking for a job at the moment.

“I am not at work but I am seeking a job right now to support my family and my son.

“I am good at doing hard physical work like working in the plantation and things like that.”

Mr. Tavai told Village Voice that luckily for him, right now he only has one son to support.

“Life right in Samoa is hard, the only solution to cope with that is finding a job to earn income to support your family.

“But for me right now, I only have one son so it is ok but I wouldn’t be able to support more than one child right now.”

Mr. Tavai also said that he is happy to do any kind of work.

“Right now I am really desperate, which is also why I am going to my friend’s house to help him with his work so I can earn some money.

“I really want to have money so I can support my kid and plus he will be going to school soon, and that is why I am pressuring myself to get a job now.
