Man accused of alleged sexual violation

A man has been charged for attempted sexual violation of two sisters in Fasito’o-tai. 

The accused is charged with attempted sexual violation and assault with intent to Commit sexual violation. 

This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Police. 

The matter was reported to the Police by the Faleolo outpost on 5 December 2018. 

“Investigation indicates that a 42-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against the suspect—a 56 years of Fasito’o Tai—with his two daughters aged 18 years and 16 years on the 5th of December 2018 at Maligi Faleolo-tai. 

“The 56-year-old man from Fasito’o-tai was charged with attempted sexual violation and assault with intent to commit sexual violation on December 6, 2018. 

“He has been remanded on bail with conditions to sign every Tuesday and Friday at Faleolo Police outpost until the 21st January 2019, where he is schedule to appear before Court for mention.” 

Another sex case reported by the Police is a matter involving a man and his niece.

“On Wednesday 5th of December 2018, a 56-year-old woman from Tufuiopa lodged a complaint against her brother-in-law from the village of Lelepa Savai’i for having sexual connection with her niece 17-years of Tufuiopa. The domestic violence unit investigations are continuing and the suspect is yet to be charged.”
