Savai’i road trip with friends

With the sun high in the sky above the exquisite turquoise lagoon across from the Amoa Resort, Savai’i, friends gather on the vast Amoa lagoon deck for a few chilled beers.

Alvin Kumar from Fiji was at the center of the party having acquired a few local friends while in Samoa for an I.T. conference last week.

Working for the Asia Development bank, Alvin had been to Samoa a few times previously but had never visited the big island.

When the opportunity came up to take a quick trip over with some local work friends, Alvin quickly extended his work trip to include a few days of site seeing.

Coming from Fiji where five star resorts are the norm, Alvin said the big island was more stunning than he imagined, attributing it to the “untouched” look about its natural beauty.

“This is my first time to be in Savai’i and I love it to be honest. Wow, I would say it’s more beautiful in Savai’i compared to Fiji. Look at the water, it’s cleaner, you can see the sand at the bottom. It’s incredible.”

“Also just the sea view, what’s good is the resorts are quite near to the wharf. I love the entertainment by my local friends that I have made here,” Alvin said to the large cheer from his local friendly party.

Alvin complimented the lay out of the Amoa Resort and recommended the Amoa lagoon deck as a great place to enjoy the sparkling clear blue lagoon, which was one of the resorts best features.

“Amoa is pretty amazing, I like their concept, especially with the way they structured all of this. I did some aerial views with my drone and I really liked the way they have set it up.”

Stopping at Amoa for a few refreshments, Alvin said their tour group was going around the whole island and while they couldn’t see everything in a day before he flew out the following day, he had a few special places picked out already.

“I did a research before I came here and I found that there are a lot of great lagoons, blowholes, that would amaze me but I definitely plan on experiencing the lagoons and swimming with the turtles.”

“I think this is a good tourism spot to be honest. I have seen a lot of tourists and one of my mates here has a resort next to Salelologa wharf. I was there, we had breakfast and I saw that there are a lot of tourists I saw there so I see that there is so much potential here.”
