“Grease Lightning” was the theme of a fun evening for the St. Mary’s Class of 1990-1993 held at the Orator Hotel Siusega on Friday night.

Class President, Fia’ailetoa Charlotte Brunt, said the evening was all about catching up with old friends and raising funds to give back to the school.

“We want our alumni to be more than just a fellowship but to also find areas in the college that needs assistance so we can help,” she said.

“We have been funding full scholarships for young ladies who have great potential to excel in education but have financial difficulties. “Our class has donated items such as printers and an oven to the school and this year we were asked that the computer lab was in need of computers hence the reason we are here tonight.”

Fiaailetoa added that having come through the system, she understands the school’s struggles for equipment. And they feel a strong sense of responsibility to help now that they are able to.

A prominent person in the community, Fiaailetoa credited St. Mary’s for instilling   in her the values that has sustained her throughout.

“We look at the old girls of the school and they are great achievers in many aspects of our community from Ministers in Cabinet, anointed servants of God, professionals, business owners, great mothers and so forth,” she said. “So we want to say thank you St Mary’s.”

Fiaailetoa also acknowledged Vailima Breweries for being their major sponsor.

“I also want to thank each and everyone who have supported us tonight from sponsoring a table, donated money or gifts. We are forever grateful.”

The evening was one of fun and plenty of entertainment where the old students boogied on down and showed their Grease Lightning moves.
