Live Bingo coming soon

Live Bingo is coming to a T.V. set near you.

Starting on 18 September at 9:30p.m on TV1, the Sinaupualofa Foundation and So’oula Traders have joined forces to bring the Game in a bid to keep mothers at home to reduce incidents where families have been affected as a result of mothers leaving home for bingo.

Sinaupualofa Foundation Trust aims to help women and address issues of domestic violence.

Chairperson, Kuinimeri Tamati, is the mastermind behind the initiative.

“The purpose of this initiative is our way of helping to reduce domestic violence within our families; especially in balancing mothers’ time with their children,” she said.

Mrs. Kuinimeri and the Foundation recognise that “domestic violence has always been an issue which they have been wanting to address, not just in our church at Faleasi’u but also for all of us in Samoa.”

It also stated that recent studies in the area of domestic violence shows that a number of sexual offences occur during the times that mothers are out of the house in order to go to bingo.

“What we have noticed; is how many of our mothers are always going places just to play bingo and just leave their children at home and that’s because bingo is not really something we can tell people to stop playing because they won’t.”

“As we all know, bingo has always been a game that women cannot just let go of just like that because they love it too much and it’s basically the only entertainment that they get especially for mothers who are always at home the whole day, working and looking after the children.”

“So this new venture can bring happiness to them and what we can do is bring the bingo to your home. You can play whenever you want and at the same time still get to be with their children.”

“At the moment, we are starting off with the TV1 on Monday at 9:30p.m. and Thursday at 9:30p.m.”

“So in playing; you use your phone to call in for everything because the system that we currently use knows exactly when a player has hit a lucky number.”

“This is just the beginning of our work because I believe that there’s a lot more work involved and needed in continuing the T.V. Bingo.”

Chief Executive Officer of Sinaupualofa Foundation also added that this is one of the most reliable systems to play bingo.

The press statement stated that funds from this fundraising activity will go towards establishment of shelters for domestic violence victims, tutorial programmes for underprivileged children and also to fund Voice of Care programmes which are just some of the Foundation’s project.

TV Bingo Schedule:

Mondays and Thursdays at 9:30p.m – TV1

Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30p.m. – TV2
