The Taula Eels team in the Super 9 competition is not just a rugby team.

They are members of the community who want to give back in any way they can.

Last week, the team from Vaimauga donated $1,000 cash and another $1000 worth of food to the Home of the Elders at Mapuifagalele.

The President of the team, Fuimaono Dicky Tafua, said the donation is their way of lending a helping hand to the sisters who are doing such a fantastic job looking after the elders.

“The main purpose of the donation is to lend a hand to the elders here at Mapuifagalele by giving them some food and also money for their everyday needs,” said Fuimaono.

“For everyone here (Taula Eels team), it’s a good feeling knowing that you have done something to give back to the community especially to Mapuifagalele and that’s how we feel.”

“This is the first time we’ve donated to the Elders here at Mapuifagalele and we are happy to have been able to help out.”

Mapuifagalele representative, Sister Lucy thanked the Taula Eels for their generosity. She prayed for God’s blessings upon the team as they continue in the Super Nine competition.
