Kalinda Salia from Brisbane, Australia is a first timer to Samoa and the island has surpassed her expectation.

For a different and more authentic experience, she chose Samoa for a relaxing getaway with her partner and two-year-old son, Louis Zorko.

Kalinda said the island offers enough activities for tourists to enjoy

“There is a lot to do and see as well on the other island,” she said.

Kalinda came to know about Samoa through her friends who have visited the island before.

The clear blue water is what attracted her attention, saying it is beautiful and crystal.

“It is definitely less touristy than Fiji for example and the water is way clearer and I actually love the marine life. The people, on top of that, are really friendly. I find people in the Pacific lovely and helpful.”

“When people greeted us at the airport playing the guitar it made us feel really welcomed. The airport itself, I think, just suits the island, they did a really good job,” Kalinda said.

“I think not a lot of people know about Samoa, so when I told them, they were asking where it is. I feel like in a way that it is a good thing because when place get overpopulated, the marine life starts to die,” she shared.

She also commented on the various structures she saw on her from the airport.

“It is amazing to see there are so many fales and so many churches,” Kalinda said.

“Learning a bit about the culture is definitely a part of our visit, everyone has been really open to share,” she said.

They plan to spend five nights in Samoa before returning to their home.

Kalinda said she would recommend Samoa to any tourist and if she is to return, then her choice of accommodation is Taumeasina Island Resort.
