Re: Why it is problematic to put the Trinity in our Constitution

Fatilua, thank you for a well-written letter. 

I’m still deciding to see if I will submit my letter on the subject or not. In it I also mention the Caesar (state) vs. God (church) dichotomy. 

I am disheartened by the ignorance and parochialism of the government leaders and those in Parliament on the subject. Trinity is not even Biblical. 

The mere and only mention of the Trinity in 1 John 5:7-8 is one that has been debunked by the Johannine Comma. There are many more important issues for the government to address than to meddle with religion. 

The preamble and national motto should suffice in the country’s declaration of its religious preference. C’mon pipo! O le a kele kakou ia laulauvivilu ae laikiki le kausisia ma le usika’ia.
