A Chinese businessman has filed for an injunction against a competitor in the Supreme Court.

Country Shop owner You Kai Fang, also known as Wilson Fang, filed an injunction to prevent Princessa owner, Zhu Jian Chen, yesterday from interfering and threatening his clients.

He is also accusing Chen of battery and assault. Mr. Fang and his parents, Xiao Yi Fang and Xiao Fang Jiang, were allegedly attacked at Vaitele at the beginning of the year.

Leota Raymond Schuster is the lawyer for the Fang family. He made the application before Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava’asue Falefatu Sapolu during civil mention yesterday.  Battery is a criminal offense involving the unlawful physical acting upon a threat.

In response to the application, Chief Justice Patu questioned whether there had been any further acts of violence that occurred between the parties.

Leota said no. His Honour Patu then adjourned the matter for the defendant to file a response to the injunction application on Monday 4 April 2016.

Outside Court, Leota said the Police have yet to complete their investigation.

He explained that the injunction moves to prevent the defendant from interfering and threatening his clients.

It was reported that the row between the businesses started over the competition for customers at the Tanugamanono-based businesses.
