The elderly woman who died on an Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Apia on Tuesday was a nun returning from a Christmas holiday in New Zealand. Sister Filomena Akenese Potogi of Sapapali’i, Savai’i died on flight NZ296, prior to the aircraft landing at the Faleolo International Airport.

Teen Challenge Samoa director, Eric Poe, has strongly condemned a Government proposal to legalise 18-year-olds to sell alcohol. Samoa Ports Authority (SPA) has presented a record dividend of $3.4 million to the Government. Samoa Ports Authority chairman, Tuiloma Neroni Slade, gave a $3,492,691 dividend cheque to Prime Minister Tuilaepa Dr. Sa'ilele Malielegaoi yesterday with the SPA board of directors looking on.
