Fiji, South Africa, NZ and France sweep Paris 7s pools

New Zealand scored in the last seconds to beat Kenya 19-17 and advance as a pool winner to the Paris Sevens rugby quarterfinals on Saturday.

Kenya, coming off winning in Singapore, impressively led 17-7 with tries to Humphrey Kayange, Samuel Oliech and Andrew Amode. But with two minutes to go, Rieko Ioane scored to close the gap to five. Kenya attacked into New Zealand's 22 until a dropped pass began a Kiwi counterattack from more than 90 meters out.

Given a penalty inside Kenya's 22, Gillies Kaka quick-tapped and ran untouched to behind the posts for the easy match-winning conversion at Stade Jean-Bouin.

That put New Zealand in a quarterfinal on Sunday with Argentina, while Kenya will face host France, which won Pool D by crushing the United States and Argentina.

World series leader Fiji ran over and through Samoa 42-5 to clean up Pool B, and line up a quarterfinal with Australia.

Australia eliminated England 24-19 from quarterfinal contention, but in the Pool C decider, was blown away by South Africa 31-0.

Seabelo Senatla dotted down twice in the first half against Australia, giving him eight tries in the tournament. He leads the season try-scoring tally with 62, more than 20 better than the next man, and also leads all point-scorers in the series.

South Africa play Samoa in the quarters.
