Stupid idea from desperate govt.

Dear Editor,

Re: Govt plans to tax Pastors

What is Tax? Tax is the money government takes from the pay of workers and the profits of businesses.

Government also adds and takes 10% or more from the cost of goods, services, and other business transactions.

A church is not a business. For government to suggest that a church is a business is insulting to church-goers.

A church exists because people want to worship God.

The money collected by pastors is a donation by church-goers and not a business transaction.

A business exists because it wants to make a profit.

A church is a not-for-profit organisation.

An “offering” is not a business transaction but a donation.

Stupid idea from a desperate government.
