Twenty-five students are ready to begin their journey at the Malua Theological College.

It followed a special service yesterday where more than a hundred family members and friends gathered at the E.F.K.S. Hall, Sogi, to pray, while the students took their oaths.

Rev. Elder Tavita Anesone led the service and encouraged the students to never lose sight of the Lord.

“It’s not easy, but you’ve got to hold on with patience and with good faith knowing that God will always take the lead,” Rev. Elder Anesone said.

“All callings are from God, you have to serve your time there with a humble heart and honesty, whatever it takes and have to trust Him with all our heart.”

He reminded them that “Jesus Christ ordered you to follow Him, go therefore and make disciples of all nations."

“Sometimes you feel like going back home again, but whatever comes our way, we have to keep on trusting Him."

“Go, go with humble heart before the Lord knowing that you’re not following anyone else, but you’re following your Lord and Saviour.”

The first year students will make their first entrance at Malua on the 31st of this month.

Malua Theological College has provided training for the ministry of the Congregational Christian Church in Samoa for more than 156 years.

Throughout the years, the College adapted and developed itself to meet the many changes in the life of the Church and the Society it serves.

Traditional values keep on changing as the theoretical and empirical aspects of culture change. In the academic arena, practically all intellectual disciplines, including Theology, are constantly developing their methodological assumptions and methods of interpretation.

The aim is to provide quality theological education, and to equip student with knowledge and skills necessary for an effective ministry in the Church, a ministry undertaken of course within the constraints of political, economic and cultural structures and inevitably affected by the changes occurring thereto.

The College is committed to the participation of its faculty members and students in developing and pursuing its objectives, as well as to the principles of equity and equal opportunity in theological education.
