Shareholders of C.S.L Mobile have over four million reasons to celebrate.

It follows the payment to local shareholders by Digicel Samoa yesterday. The cheque of $4,652,412 was presented by Digicel Samoa Chairman, Pepe Christian Fruean and C.E.O, Rory Condon.

It was accepted by the Chief Executive Officer of the N.P.F, Faumuina Esther Lameko-Poutoa, Chief Executive Officer of S.L.A.C, Lei’ataua Alden Godinet and the Chief Executive Officer of C.S.L, La’eimau Oketevi Tanuvasa.

Faumuina said the money shows that the government’s decision ten years ago to entrust a 20per cent stake with Digicel was a wise investment.

“This flourishing partnership enables us to give more back to the community through mobile services, community development initiatives and now, through financial returns to local and Government shareholders and as you can see by investing locally, S.N.P.F contributing members are the real winners,” said Faumuina.

C.S.L Mobile local directors attributed the success in business to the support of the Samoan people using Digicel services, as subscription numbers have grown steadily for both mobile and Internet services over the past year.

Mr. Condon reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in the future of Samoa.

“Following this payment, local shareholders and S.N.P.F contributors can now look forward to a regular stream of dividends,” he said.

“It gives me great pleasure knowing that the support we get from the people of Samoa translates into financial returns to the community.

“We are proud to continue to serve so that investment in our country translates into employment, economic growth and returns to the people.”

Since its inception in 2006, Digicel Samoa has given back more than $11,000,000 to the people of Samoa through various sponsorships and promotion prizes to enhance the sustainability of local communities and individuals.

This is in addition to dividend payments totalling $3,000,000 in the past years to C.S.L mobile.

“All this is possible from the support of our valued customers and partners, they are the most important part of this great success, faafetai lava,’ said Pepe.

Samoa’s G.S.M network has the widest coverage of any mobile network in Samoa, taking care of the communication needs of more than 80per cent of the population.

By being connected to Samoa’s extraordinary network, you are investing in the future of Samoa.
