Oops… wrong place for a beer!

There was plenty of liquor on the streets of Apia on Tuesday morning but the Police and Land Transport Authority officers needed not worry.

The liquor wasn't consumed by motorists and drivers.

Rather, it was smashed on Beach Road at the Town Clock round about.

It happened when a truck carrying Vailima Beer made a wrong move and tipped over an estimated 30 crates for the road to enjoy.

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority (F.E.S.A.) arrived quickly to clean up the mess.

F.E.S.A. Commissioner, Lelevaga Fa’afouina Mupo, said the driver was careless as he hadn’t secured his load.

“We value the safety of our people, and that’s why we responded to the incident to sweep off the broken bottles on the road especially since it was in the middle of town,” said Lelevaga.

The Commissioner used the opportunity to encourage drivers to be safe and that if they carry loads, they must ensure that they are well secured.

And also asked members of the public to contact their free call number 994 for any emergency.
