Three is a crowd  

One Minister with three Secretaries? 

A colleague of BTL walked into the office of one Cabinet Minister. 

Secretary #1 asks: Do you have an appointment? 

She went on to ask questions relevant to the visit. 

The second Secretary walks in with her coffee and asks the same questions the first secretary had asked and within five minutes.

Then the third Secretary who was late, walked in and again…. asked the same questions the two other secretaries asked.

How many secretaries does one Cabinet Minister need?

 

 

When the cat is away the mice will play

Police Commissioner has been away for over a week now. In his absence the Deputy Police Commissioner is the Acting Police Commissioner and according to the admin staff she is also the Media Coordinator and Spokesperson for the Police. 

She must be so overworked filling in two positions as well as her own.

On top of that the Commissioner’s secretary was also on leave and the temporary replacement changed from day to day not knowing what happened the day before. When one is ‘on leave’ does that mean their responsibilities are also on hold?

 We really hope the poor Police are not experiencing a shortage of staff after all they need to cater to all public enquiries and give the same attention - let alone the media, who are just doing their job. 

 

 

When in doubt – say you’re in a meeting

And the award for the most common response from any secretary or admin staff when trying to reach their boss for anything work related goes to ‘Sorry, he/she is in a meeting” even if the clock reads 4.45pm on a business day.

Just for funsies, it would be so refreshing if they came up with more imaginative excuses. 

Here’s an idea, for those people who are running out of believable excuses - It would be more believable if you said something like “Sorry, he/she is busy riding a unicorn on a rainbow.”

 C’mon the public deserves better!
