A local chef, who is employed at the Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital, is fighting for his life at the hospital.

He is in critical condition after he was set upon and assaulted outside of the hospital last week.

The incident has left his family, Police and hospital staff horrified.

Police Spokesperson, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, confirmed the sickening attack.

He said the Police are investigating.

“I can confirm that two 18 year olds have been charged with assault and causing injury,” he told the Samoa Observer.

“The Police are still continuing with their investigation of what really happened on the day.”

The Police declined to discuss the details of the assault.

“That is all I can say for now until the Police have completed their investigations.”

It was not possible to get an official comment from the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital.

But the Samoa Observer was told that the victim is on life support because his injuries were severe.

Sources claim the attack was unprovoked and that the man is lucky to be alive.

The victim is believed have roots in Talimatau while the accused are from Tanugamanono, which is not far from the hospital.
