The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (CCCS) choir from Vailoa Faleata has concluded preparations for the launch of their first album.

The choir is made up of over 60 members from the congregation, led by Reverend Siaosi Mataia and Leatinu’u Keneti Peseta.

Rev. Siaosi Mataia said there are 12 songs in the album, which are all from the CCCS book of hymns.

“The name of our album is from one of the songs within the CD, ‘Pei o le ua e susu ai matou loto nei.’ That is a song on page 115 from the CCCS book of hymns but to us it means our never-ending prayer to the Lord for his blessings upon us all.

“It is because through everything in life we cannot do it without the Lord’s help and also to always serve and acknowledge him.

“The album is not only a fundraising to assist the church but also to acknowledge the work that we have done so far,” Rev. Siaosi said.

He also told the Samoa Observer that there were lots of difficulties that they faced.

“One of the challenges was the financial cost which was around $20,000 that covers all the costs of production and making of copies and also during the launching.

“Another difficulty was during rehearsals where some nights not everyone attends but it took three weeks altogether to record.

“The significance of this album is to use the talents by our choir to not only praise the Lord through hymns but also all for a good cause,” he said.

He also stated that all the songs took two years ever since they started in 2016 as the church leaders for Vailoa.

“The official launch is on the 17 of May this year which is on a Friday during the CCCS annual conference that will be attended by various pastors around the world.

“And we are hoping to sell it for $30 to those who are interested to listening to Christian music.”
