One more local business has stepped forward to help the Marist St. Joseph’s Sports Club.
Yesterday, the Club welcomed another long time sponsor on board when Myna’s donated $5,000 in support of the Club’s XXIXth Vailima Marist International Sevens and International Sports Week.
Niko Demus Lee Hang, son of the owner of Myna’s, Papali’itele Niko Lee Hang, presented the contribution to the President of Marist, Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio.
“Myna’s has always been supportive of the Marist values for developing sports and it is such a great cause,” said Mr. Lee Hang said in a statement issued by the Club.
“Such initiative undertakes a lot of challenges and we hope that our contribution can help the Club in many ways.”
The Marist President welcomed the support from Myna’s.
“We are proud to announce that Myna’s will be one of our Associate Sponsors to help us fund our weeklong sporting activities,” said Faimalomatumua.
“Our preparations would not have been made possible without the assistance of the business community including Myna’s.”
“It is always the mission of the Club that we associate with all our partners to help us share and spread that vision to aid sports development in Samoa.
“Today, on behalf of the Club Executive and Members, we acknowledge Hon. Papaliitele Niko Lee Hang and family for their unwavering support over the years.”
Myna’s donation follows similar donations from G-Mana Wholesale NZ and Pacific Ezy Money on Wednesday.
Marist’s first International Sports Week is scheduled to start on 10 February until 18 February 2017.
The week long festivities will feature sports such as rugby league, touch rugby , netball and boxing, with the main event being the Vailima Marist International Sevens tournament.
“This is part of the Club’s bigger purpose to aid our sports athletes, officials and administrators achieve the goals that they have set.”
The International Sports week will start with our Fight For Marist II on Friday February 10 and culminate with Rugby 7’s on Saturday February 18.
“Considering Samoa’s competitive involvement in the region and on the international fronts through some sports that the club is involved with, the notion to have five sports celebrated in the week long festivity is a step to the right direction.”
The official launch for the Marist St Joseph’s International Sports Week is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 January 2017.
