Vailu’u Iosefo Ikenasio celebrated his 90th birthday at St. Joseph’s College hall at Alafua during the weekend.

Families and friends of the Ikenasio family of Se’ese’e gathered to witness the special event.

Vailu’u’s eldest daughter, Anarosa Ikenasio, said her father is a loving and humble person who always put his family first.

“Throughout our lives, our father has never laid a hand on any of us,” she said.

“He is a very hard working person and his children and family was always his main priority.’

For the birthday boy, he relayed through Anarosa that the key to a long life is to honour your parents.

“He is living proof of that saying because our father had looked after his parents, our mother’s parents and our family from when he was young.

“So when he had a family of his own, God made sure that we do the same thing that he was doing to his parents and our mother’s parents.

“So now he has reached the age of 90, our prayer to the Lord is that may our father be able to live more to see the fruits of his hard work through us his children.

“So today we have given all our best in celebrating his 90th birthday. We want him to know that he is the best father in the world and we wouldn’t change it for anything in this life.”
