How do we tackle life’s challenges? Work harder

Life will always be hard and that’s why we must work.

Elia Sala, 46, of Falefa believes this.

“Life will never be easy,” he tells the Village Voice. “It was never made that way because if it were; then we would be expecting things to come to us just like that.”

“See that’s why working hard matters now and forever because that’s how it’s suppose to be. We are only human beings and we learn everyday to survive on our own.”

Elia is not only a father but a hardworking person. He works for a family at Tanugamalala.

“Tanugamalala is a good place to work. It’s a new place for me but I think it needs security and a village council as many people have settled here. I mean we are responsible for the safety of our own people after all.”

“It’s different from home, because you see everything is in place back home but it’s not the same over here and even though I do miss home sometimes; I can’t just get up and leave because I came here for a reason.”

Just like anyone in this world who works; Elia is doing this for his family.

“My family at Falefa is my inspiration and the reason why I work in the first place; I look after the cattle farm for this family.”

“I work seven days a week and in the weekends; that’s my time for my family.”

“Work has never been easy because I’m always from my family but we all know we got to take risks sometimes if we want a better life for our loved ones right?”

“I do enjoy my job though; it’s good to be working in an environment like this because you begin to see and understand the value of everything from our surroundings. Nature has always been something that I love.”
