The Minister of Education, Sports and Culture,Loau Keneti Sio, officially opened S.S.A.B.’s 3rd biennial Golden Experience Trade Promotion yesterday.

Held at the Megastore at Togafu’afu’a, it was a grand occasion featuring more than 30 international and local suppliers of products sold by S.S.A.B.

The size of the Promotion was not lost on the Minister who said that compared to the past years; the event has gotten bigger and better.

“I was told that there are over 30 representatives from overseas representing various suppliers that are here today,” he said.

“I also see a lot of our own local people in attendance especially those from both the private and the public sectors mainly the C.E.O.’s and A.C.E.O.’s.

“Trade Promotions such as this is vital as they help stimulate our economy and enable Samoa to keep up with global changes in terms of market products.”

The Minister said businesses always need to be innovative.

“Having this trade promotion is therefore timely since its aim is to bring S.S.A.B.’s overseas suppliers to meet S.S.A.B.’s clients and to understand our Samoa market and to introduce new products and services to Samoa’s market.”

Loau believes the three-day event, including Savaii on Monday, will provide the private and public sector with the opportunity to see firsthand, new products that are available and talk face to face with those from overseas who supply them.

“You can also discuss with the supplier’s possible solutions to the issues that you are facing while working,” Loau said.

“There are also representatives of companies that specialize in areas pertaining to stationery, education, toys, beds, furniture, electronics, white ware and home ware.”

“To the representatives of overseas companies and their families that are here, I formally welcome you to our shores. I appreciate you taking the time to be here and to share your experience and expertise with our people.

“To S.S.A.B.’s CEO and staff I congratulate you for organizing and hosting this 3rd biennial Trade Promotion.

“S.S.A.B. started as a business nine years ago with only four employees and now the company employs more than 100 people here in Samoa alone with  branches in Savaii, Upolu, American Samoa and New Zealand.”

The C.E.O and President of S.S.A.B.,Fiti Leung Wai said having the suppliers in Samoa is an endorsement of one of S.S.A.B.’s signature emphasis in the market which is that they care about their customers.”

“I am grateful and I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to all our suppliers who travelled from China, Hawaii, New Zealand and Tokelau and thank you for coming to support our Golden Experience Trade Promotion 2017,” she said.

“I am happy to announce that 30 representatives of overseas companies are here at this Trade Promotion; more than twice the number compared to our 1st Trade Promotion.

“I acknowledge and appreciate their efforts and sacrifice in terms of money and time to come here to support the Samoan market.

“Our suppliers and S.S.A.B. have a common aim; namely the importance of understanding our consumers’ needs and concerns.

“The more we understand, the better we can serve you, so you educate us to help you.

This Trade Promotion is called, “Golden Experience.”

“Not often do we get to meet some of the C.E.O.’s, Export Managers and senior officers from these big companies from overseas which is a Golden Opportunity.

“This is a chance for our customers and consumers to relay exactly what you expect from our suppliers in terms of Samoan customer needs and wants.”

In conclusion she urged the customers to voice their concerns to the suppliers.

“SSAB strongly advocates and vigorously supports our supplier’s product and brands.

“We urge the people of Samoa to support these companies from overseas who are present here today.

“And I believe, in God’s name, that this Trade Promotion will give you a Golden Experience.”
