Deputy P.M. closes Parliament
Deputy Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa closed Parliament for 2016, wishing Samoa a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
In the absence of Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi who had to leave early for another commitment, Fiame, who is also Minister of Natural Resources and Environment acknowledged the country’s support and prayers for the work of their Parliamentarians. She noted that it has been a challenging year but also a very rewarding one in terms of what Parliament has been able to achieve.
Fiame thanked Speaker of Parliament, Leaupepe Tole’afoa Fa’afisi and his staff for their work. She acknowledged all the Members of Parliament and everyone who has played a part in the work of Parliament this year.
Parliament has been adjourned until January 2017.
