It is a long way from the bright lights of Sydney to Samoa for Cindy Maruncic and her Australian family.

It was her first visit to Samoa and she is having a ball on the island, her family’s vacation as the best and most memorable.

The decision to fly to Samoa has a reunion feel about it, she traveled over to also catch up with a friend who moved to Samoa some years back.

“We are here to have some family times, two families and our friends together and I’ve also come to visit a friend of mine that moved to Samoa for about four to five years ago to do missionary work.

“And I have a look on what she does and see the kids again because I was their teacher at a local school at Sydney, and to expose my children to another way of life apart from the life in Sydney,” she said.

According to her, the family is happy and delighted to be in Samoa and they would love to come back.

“They have actually noticed — apart from the resort and the beaches — what we have seen and loved and the people and the happy nature is infection.

“Just the smile and laughter the happiness and the easy going with life we absolutely loved watching that with the people and all the other things that we like to come back and help or even to donate a bit of their time which is good,” she added.

For Kiki Maruncic, one of Cindy’s daughter, she is keen to come back to do missionary work.

The family had visited a number of resorts in Samoa and conclude that the Taumeasina Island Resort is the most outstanding, hence they are currently guests in that hotel.

They said the customer service at the hotel is been great and the cultural activities are entertaining.

The family also had the chance to drive around the island and stopped by at a couple of places, as well as visit the market to see what is on offer. Out of the few tourist sites they have visited during their stay in Samoa, they rank the Tosua Ocean Trench as the best one that they have been to.
