The family of a young boy from Samatau is mourning his death following a tragic incident involving a bus on Friday night.

The death was confirmed by a member of the extended family yesterday, who requested for the names to be withheld as they have yet to inform all their relatives about the tragedy.

She told the Sunday Samoan the deceased was with his little brother when the incident occurred.

“They were doubling on the bike when it happened,” she said.

“When they passed by some young people, one of them who was standing on the side of the road, pushed the bike onto the road."

“They fell on the road and at that time, a bus got to where the kids fell. The bus driver did not know and he hit them.”

The relative said the older of the siblings died instantly while the young one is fighting for his life at the hospital.

When the Sunday Samoan contacted the Police commissioner, Fuiavailili Egon Keil, he said he hadn’t received an official report about the matter.
