The Unit Trust of Samoa (U.T.O.S.) is mourning the death of their long serving Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.), Sa’u Justina Sa’u.

Sa’u, 43, of Apolima-uta and Sinamoga, was found dead on Sunday morning.

“The Board and Management of the Unit Trust of Samoa are deeply sad to confirm the untimely passing of its C.E.O. Sa’u Justina Sa’u,” a statement issued by U.T.O.S. yesterday said.

The Police also confirmed her death in a statement.

“In the early morning of Sunday 21st of October 2018 at 4.00am, a call was received from T.T.M. hospital reporting that a 43-year-old female was brought to the hospital and she was declared dead upon arrival,” the Police said.

The Police say they are not ruling out foul play in their investigation.

“A postmortem is schedule to confirm the cause of death and C.I.D. police investigations are continuing to determine whether any foul play is involved.

No criminal charges has been filed yet.”

In the meantime, U.T.O.S. has announced the appointment of Fainu’ulelei James Ah Wai, as the Acting C.E.O.

“To ensure the operation of U.T.O.S. functions routinely without disruption, appropriate governance and transitional arrangements have been put in place,” the statement from U.T.O.S. said.

U.T.O.S. say Fainu’ulelei is the contact point for any enquiries relating to investments and operation.

“He can be contacted on phone 26949 or email address [email protected],” the statement reads.

“The public is reminded that opening hours of the U.T.O.S. office at the 3rd floor of the D.B.S. Building remains from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
