Thirteen-year-old Pulotuila Taililino Topeni was announced the 2017 dux of St Joseph’s Primary School at Le’auva’a yesterday.

She is the daughter of Tipeni Topeni and the Late Samuelu Topeni from the village of Vaitele-Uta.

Pulotuila is the third of four siblings and achieved the highest marks in Samoan, Maths and Science.

Pulotuila says God’s guidance and her dedication to her education led to her achievement.

“Even though life is not complete because my father passed away a few years ago, I tried my best to make my mother and family happy,” she said.

“I know my dad is also smiling down from heaven and so dad, this is for you.”

Pulotuila says her teachers, family and especially her parents did a wonderful job in raising her.

“I know this is not the end, but the beginning of another journey, so I have to trust in the Lord and keep on going.”

 “I feel very happy today.

“All the glory belongs to the heavenly father for all His help while I was studying to get to where I am now.

“To my parents, thank you for all these years especially your hard work of raising me.”
