Seira Endemann is the 2018 Dux of Martin Hautus Institute of Learning.

The 18-year-old received a certificate in hospitality (level 3) and was awarded the best all round and best spirit student award during the graduation within the school’s compound at Malololelei last Friday.

Seira is the child of Leau Siaosi and Apaula Endemann from Leulumoega tuai.

“I am very grateful that I have achieved something like this, I thank the director, principal and staff of my school and of course my classmates, and everyone that supported us in our academic year.”

“My parents are the most supportive people in my life and I am thankful to have them in my life.”

“There were challenges that I faced, one of them was when we had to go to different work experience which we had to come out of our comfort zone and be confident,” she said.

Seira wants to become a flight attendant in the future.

“I intend on showcasing Samoa’s hospitality to the world because I want to promote my home land to the world.”

“Samoa is not just a beautiful island but within the island its people are friendly and welcoming.”

“But for now, I am considering taking up my diploma next year but time will tell what the future holds,” she added.

During the ceremony, 18 students received certificates in tourism (level 3) while seven were presented with certificates in hospitality (level 3).

It is also the first time for the institution to award five diplomas in tourism management (level 5). The two top students were Hanamore Fafo and Choki Tshering.
